The Rotary Foundation of Philadelphia, the charity arm of the Rotary Club of Philadelphia, awarded more than $30,000.00 of grants to worthy city organizations and for  international humanitarian projects.


$2000.00  Two $1000.00 scholarships to Miss Philadelphia contestants

$ 850.00   Funding for three students to attend RYLA (Rotary Leadership) Conference

$3650.00  Philadelphia Rotary Literacy Book Distribution Project for four city schools , Fall 2015

$1000.00   Start-up costs, Drexel University Rotaract

$5000.00   2015-2016 Operating costs of $1000.00 per to: West Catholic Interact Club; Drexel University Rotaract; Penn Rotaract; Andrew Jackson EarlyAct Club; and the Global Leadership Interact Club (which has now Rotary International certification).

$5000.00   Rotary International Global Medical Project in Uganda

$  285.00   Attendance of three Philadelphia Rotary members at RLI (Rotary Leadership) conference*

$3750.00   Achieve Now reading program in designated Philadelphia city school

$2000.00   Musicopia program (restoring music programs in Philadelphia schools)

$2350.00   Habitat for Humanity program in Philadelphia

$2000.00 for two surgical operations —  Rotaplast Mission to Pereira, Columbia

$750.00    Children’s Hospital “Babies and Books” project

$1500.00     IHM Literacy Project to confront illiteracy among Philadelphia’s immigrant population

$1500.00      Aqua Corps to provide “basic necessity kits” for homeless persons in Philadelphia

$500.00 …Grant to WXPN radio to support its community commitments.
