About Our Grants Program

The Rotary Foundation of Philadelphia awards grants of up to $5,000 each to worthy causes and organizations in need that fit within the scope of our Mission. The Foundation Board meets Quarterly to review grant applications and determine whether to fund the request. The Rotary Foundation prefers to fund special projects, events, and/or the purchase of essential equipment/furnishings. We do not typically provide grants to support day-to-day operating expenses, salaries, marketing and fundraising costs, the purchase of gift cards, or the purchase of land or buildings.

We prioritize projects with clear impact, measurable outcomes, a connection to the Greater Philadelphia community, and alignment with Rotary's global Mission.  Grantees may be asked to present the impact of the grant at a Rotary Club meeting or as an article for our newsletter.

All grant applicants are contacted upon completion of the application review with the outcome.

Annual Giving: Approximately $30,000 awarded annually.

Eligibility: Applicants must be registered with the United States Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

Service Projects

In addition to grants from the Rotary Foundation, the Rotary Club of Philadelphia delivers service to worthy community projects. We support causes monthly by providing a team of volunteers to assist nonprofit organizations with various projects.  On the Grant Application Form, there is a place for you to identify service projects that we could deliver in addition to or in lieu of funding.
