It's a Real Whodunnit!
Murder Mystery Night with the Philly Rotary
Join the ranks of well-known sleuths like Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, or the Scooby-Doo gang when you solve a murder mystery!
As we enjoy a delicious three-course meal, the plot will unfold and someone will drop dead (in a comedic way, of course). As the night continues, we'll get to interrogate the suspects, gather the clues, and work together to help crack the case before the killer gets away!

On September 19th, Rotarians and guests met for a social at Libertee Grounds for a well-attended event to enjoy hyper-local beer and cocktails, Asian bar fare, and indoor mini-golf all in one. Their two unique, nine-hole mini-golf courses feature murals by local artists.
Supporting Team USA
The Philadelphia Rotary Club gathered on Saturday, August 10th, to watch the U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT) compete in the championship game at the Paris Olympics against Brazil. The event was organized by the Social and Membership Committees, was kicked off by club legend Joe Batory, and hosted esteemed guests including the Casaricos fresh from Genoa, Italy. A fantastic time was enjoyed by all at The Post, and topped off by the USMNT winning the Gold Medal - something not accomplished in over ten years! Stay involved and stay tuned for many more fun events!
Philadelphia Rotary Club Axe Throwing Social Event
We had a good turnout and a fun evening at the recent Axe Throwing event. It was a great atmosphere for getting to know our fellow Rotarians and guests better while trying out a new skill.
Everyone improved their axe-throwing abilities throughout the event, which culminated in an intense two-team competition!
We also had a special guest join us, Mauricio Alexandre, from the Rotary Club of Sao Paolo Brazil, who brought us a banner from their club and shared in the axe-cellent fun. Thanks to everyone who came out.

Slam Dunk at LaSalle
On March 2nd, we had a fantastic turnout for LaSalle’s Men’s Basketball game!
Our members, along with the kids and parents from the Anderson Monarchs, cheered on our friend, Coach Fran Dunphy, as he led his team to victory. We all had a great time and the Anderson Monarchs kids won a pizza for being great fans. We were also honored during the game on the big screen with kind words from the announcer.
Thank you to everyone who helped organize this event and who came out to support!

Fundraising Success at Zoo
Last week you read about the successful fundraising that Team Rotary did at the Walk for Love. Since the still photo couldn't capture all of the fun that was had, here's a short video which includes James and Bridget Comfort doing the Cha Cha Slide with baby Cole and some other happy dancing and comments from the rest of the group. This was the first time our Rotary club participated in the event, which benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Thanks to all of you who donated! You can still make a contribution by going to clicking THIS LINK.
A group of talkative and hungry Philadelphia Rotary members enjoyed a Cantonese feast of the Ocean Harbor Restaurant on Thursday, September 21st. The eight family style dishes were not just good….they were fabulous! And shared by all creating lots of empty platters!
The Peking Duck dish won the first prize from the group, but several vegetable dishes were also widely applauded.
Host Shawn McGill and President Ken Myers presided over this social event and both even spoke Chinese to the waiters.
This was a great first step of moving the club’s social dinners on the 3rd Thursday of each month to different restaurant location. At each of the locations, there will be socializing, networking, and terrific food.
(That’s Carrie Sharpshair and Sean Friedland enjoying some Cantonese delicacies.)
